The annual sponsored bike ride and walk in aid of the churches of Herefordshire will take place on September 11th. Time to plan a route, do some training and get some sponsors!
On Trinity Sunday,
the 30th May, we marked the retirement of Mary Baron as Director of
Music at the church with presentations from Carl Attwood, the choir and
Melanie to say thank you for many years of devoted service.
We are very pleased to have recruited Nick Blunn to this important position and everyone is looking forward to working with him in the future.
We have at last received the faculty for our scheme scheme for re-ordering the chancel - click here for more details. This will be combined with work to replace the West door to give a fire exit for the church, so there will be some disruption to our services over the coming year.
We are preparing plans for a new AV system, involving a projector, electrically operated projection screen, a sound system and a visualiser (like an overhead projector, but going through the main projector). When not in use, the system will be very inconspicuous. The project has been discussed at a PCC meeting and a faculty has been prepared, pending the chancel re-ordering. The Ministry Team, the Seekers, the Enigma group and the Parish Praise people have all been involved and are excited about the possibilities the new system will offer to enhance our worship. At the moment, the faculty for this project is held up, waiting for the chancel re-ordering, but even when we get this sorted out, it will take us all some considerable time to get used to using it, so don't expect major changes too soon!
Consultations are now going on about a new ringing gallery at All Saints, to complement the new bells, and one or two other alterations. More details here.
