The annual parochial church meeting will take place after the parish communion service on the seventh.
Our Lent House Groups are carrying on throughout the month and will culminate in the Holy week services at the end of the month. On Monday Tuesday and Wednesday these will be at 7.00pm in the village hall. This year they will feature meditations on the theme of the three Kings gifts rather than the dramatised readings we have had in previous years.
In April, the Maundy Thursday service will be at 7.00pm and lead on to the all-night vigil and watch of the passion. Good Friday will start with litany devotion and communion at 9.00am, followed by walk of witness at 10:30 AM. The Good Friday service at Coddington will take place as usual at 11.15. From midday onwards there will be a children's workshop at St James.
As an experiment, we are devoting a part of the church web site to commemorate those who have died. This takes the form of memorial pages, where you can contribute photographs, poems and stories of those who were dear to you. Click here to see our first few pages. If you would like to commemorate someone in this way, please get in touch with the parish office and we will help you to produce a suitable page.
We're into the music business!
What's a blog? It is a kind of on-line public diary. It's a place where you can do some thinking aloud. It's a means of sharing some thoughts. We hope to have a blog for the Ministry team, but are having some problems with it (mainly shortage of time!). Click here to see our previous version.
We have produced a scheme for re-ordering the chancel - click here for more details. This has been re-submitted to the Diocesan Advisory Committee and we hope to go ahead with it this year.
We are preparing plans for a new AV system, involving a projector, electrically operated projection screen, a sound system and a visualiser (like an overhead projector, but going through the main projector). When not in use, the system will be very inconspicuous. The project has been discussed at a PCC meeting and a faculty has been prepared, pending the chancel re-ordering. The Ministry Team, the Seekers, the Enigma group and the Parish Praise people have all been involved and are excited about the possibilities the new system will offer to enhance our worship. At the moment, the faculty for this project is held up, waiting for the chancel re-ordering, but even when we get this sorted out, it will take us all some considerable time to get used to using it, so don't expect major changes too soon!
Consultations are now going on about a new ringing gallery at All Saints, to complement the new bells, and one or two other alterations. More details here.
